FAQ’s

What is the difference between becoming a member of FOMNRR and making a donation?

Both membership and donations support the Friends of Missouri National Recreational River (FOMNRR), but they serve slightly different purposes.

Your membership is an annual contribution that supports our mission. Annual dues begin at $50, with a discounted rate for individuals age 30 or under. Membership offers designated annual benefits (see membership details above) as well as ways to be as involved as you’d like to be through events, newsletters, volunteer opportunities, and more.

Donations are flexible financial gifts that can directly support our programs, projects, events, and/or operations. Donations may be made at any time and in any amount.

Whether you choose to become a member, make a donation, or both, your support helps sustain and strengthen the Missouri River and the community that cares for it.

How can I support a specific project like the Missouri River Watershed School Festival or the MNRR Water Trail?

To support a specific project, program, or event, you can use our donation form to direct your investment directly to that initiative.

To learn more how to make your investment make the most impact for you/your business and the river, reach out to our Executive Director (executivedirector@fomnrr.org).

Contact us at info@fomnrr.org if you are interested in volunteering to support a specific project with your time and effort.

I would like to become a member but am not interested in the recognition portion of my membership benefits. How can I opt out?

To opt out of the recognition portion of your membership benefits, you can select the option to give anonymously.

When should I renew my annual membership?

Memberships are valid for the calendar year and expire on December 31. Memberships paid on or after October 1 (i.e. in the last quarter of the year) expire on December 31 of the following year.

In short, it’s best to renew your annual membership anytime between October and January to ensure your membership and support for Friends of the MNRR does not lapse.
